Screen Skills Training Courses

ScreenSkills is the industry-led skills body for the screen industries. They work across the UK to ensure that film, television (including children’s and high-end drama), VFX (visual effects), animation and games have the skills and talent they need.

They provide insight, career development and other opportunities to help grow and sustain the skilled and inclusive workforce which is the foundation stone of the UK’s global screen success.

Browse and discover their endorsed courses to find your next skills boost, and register with ScreenSkills to find out if you’re eligible for a bursary towards training costs, travel, accommodation, subsistence or disability support to attend the course.

Screen Skills have launched a range of masterclasses, training and workshops supported by the TV Skills Fund, ScreenSkills ITF and the HETV Skills Fund. It is a free package of remote and interactive training, online talks and masterclasses with industry leaders to support freelancers in upskilling and staying in touch with industry during these difficult times (Covid-19).

The detailed programme will be released a week at a time to allow everyone a chance to benefit. Numbers will be kept modest in the first week of pilots but will be adjusted where possible after that to meet demand. They are politely asking freelancers not to over-book as we want to reach as many freelancers as possible.

Mentoring for mentors and Mentoring for mentees are free to access and provide an introduction to the concept of mentoring for either the mentor or mentee.

This online training is supported by the BFI, awarding National Lottery funds as part of its Future Film Skills strategy.
