In late 2019, we commissioned Wavehill (with support from Clwstwr, Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre and Bangor University) to explore the potential for a Made in Wales brand, building on the extensive work our Made in Wales strategy, which launched in 2014.
If viable, this could support our ambitions to celebrate Welsh stories on screen, making Welsh connections recognisable, as films stand alongside independent and foreign language titles worldwide.
We are delighted to share the findings of this work with you. With feedback from over 50 strategic screen partners, it examines strengths, challenges and perceptions of identity within the screen industry in Wales. We also explored international examples of best practice from Sweden, Canada and Ireland, that we can learn from as we take next steps.
