Madfabulous: The Whole Story

With Ynys Môn at its heart, Madfabulous releases June 5 2026 with a host of Welsh connections from production company Mad As Birds and director Celyn Jones to the film’s star Callum Scott Howells.

To support the UK release, we have created a support pack featuring programming recommendations and assets including an exclusive article by Sinema Pontio’s Dion Wyn on ‘Ynys Môn (Anglesey) having its “cinematic moment” in 2026’, and a red carpet Q&A with Director Celyn Jones, Writer Lisa Baker and star Callum Scott Howells, all of which exhibitors can share with audiences to promote the film’s Welsh connections.

When the flamboyant Henry Paget arrives in 1890s North Wales to claim his aristocratic inheritance, his theatrical flair and defiant eccentricities send shockwaves through the upper-class elite, much to the amusement of the local townspeople. Alongside his spirited cousin, Lily, and loyal butler, Gelert, Henry tries to carve out his own identity as the Fifth Marquess, navigating suffocating traditions, scheming relatives, and the long shadow cast by his estranged father. Inspired by a true story, this riotous, uncompromising celebration of otherness, is led fearlessly by rising star and BAFTA nominee Callum Scott Howells (It’s a Sin, The Beautiful Game), joined by a stellar supporting cast of three-time BAFTA nominee Rupert Everett (The Happy Prince, An Ideal Husband), Ruby Stokes (Jay Kelly, Bridgerton), BAFTA winner Siobhán McSweeney (Derry Girls, Alice Through the Looking Glass), Louis Hynes (A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Great), Louise Brealey (Sherlock, Brian and Charles), Tom Rhys Harries (White Lines, The Gentlemen) and Paul Rhys (Wuthering Heights, Saltburn).
