‘Through The Waves’ is a 7-minute short-film, that finally tells the story of Artie Moore. In Gelligroes Mill, on the 14th April 1912, Artie Moore received the terrified distress call from the sinking Titanic. Here, he’s portrayed by Steffan Cennydd (The Pembrokeshire Murders, Yr Amgueddfa), where we’re taken right back to that fateful night in 1912.

Story: Artie Moore grew up in Gelligroes, near Pontllanfraith South Wales. His incredible skills in wireless technology are what lead the events of this story to take place, where he received the distress call from the sinking Titanic. He went on to attract the attention of Marconi, who took him under his wing, out of Wales, to create the earliest versions of SONAR. Artie Moore should be remembered as an iconic, Welsh inventor but his story has remained mostly unknown, only celebrated by the local community around Pontllanfraith.
