The Cormorant

Writer John Talbot and his wife inherit a remote country cottage in Snowdonia. But a condition of the inheritance is that the couple look after the cormorant which comes with the house. Soon they realise that the cormorant is more than a minor nuisance. It wreaks havoc with their lives. John finds himself increasingly drawn towards the cormorant and grows distant from his wife Mary. He becomes pre-occupied with thoughts about his childhood. The problems do not end with the death of the bird.
