Barry David Horwitz was born into a poor Jewish family in Chicago. With a passion for literature at an early age, he pursued a career in academia and spent his working life as a Professor of Shakespeare at the University of Berkeley, California where his larger-than-life character became legendary. Having retired and entered his eighties, Barry has been forced to negotiate a new approach to life.
