It's 1999 in Tripoli, Lebanon. Reine and Abdallah love the olive trees that used to grow in their land. Each harvest, they and their family would ride in their jeep to pick the small fruits. They eagerly stomp, stomp, stomp on them to release their golden oil. Olives have always tied their family to the land, as Abdallah and Reine learns from the stories Nana tells of a land before war. But war has come to their border once more, forcing them to flee, and the family to sell their land. Even as their family is uprooted, Abdallah makes a solemn promise to visit his beloved olive trees again. Yet to his surprise, another war breaks out, forbidding him to enjoy the legacy he grew up in. So he finds a way to relive the memories whilst reflecting on the tragedies of feeling displaced fromhis roots - even as he says goodbye.
