Transgender Awareness

In 2014, Film Hub Wales organised a Transgender Awareness Session, with Equiversal, to raise awareness and understanding of the issues facing transpeople in both employment and access to services.

This led to a further session with Equiversal, Iris Outreach Limited and Trans*Form Cymru, as part of our Opening Doors Development Day.

• The difference between gender identity and gender expression.
• The journey face by transgender people.
• The barriers and discrimination faced experienced by transgender people.
• The need to promote greater exceptance and rights for all transgender people.
• Equality legislation in relation to transgender people.
• How venues can become more transgender-friendly for audiences.
