If you want to attend a meeting, course or event that would benefit you, your organisation and your film audience but the costs are prohibitive, you can submit a proposal for support.

This scheme is designed to enable staff and volunteers at member organisations to build confidence, new skills and enhance professional development for themselves, their organisation and the wider Hub network.

Since 2013, FHW has supported the Welsh exhibition sector with 118 bursaries and we have had over 1692 individual engagements with different workshops, surgeries and events.


  • Applications for training/skills bursaries will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year with no set deadlines,

We also offer the following opportunities year round:

  • Audience Development –  Aimed at developing film audiences across Wales,
  • Festivals – Innovative festivals or networks that meet one or more FHW priorities,
  • Made in Wales – Strategic Projects and Pitch Pots for films with Welsh connections,
  • New Film Releases – marketing support for some of the best independent and foreign films.
  • Bursaries – Training and skills.

Members can apply to all of the above offers. We also offer networking events, training courses, marketing support, film news and the opportunity to participate in national film seasons via Major Programmes.
