Festival Development Training

Tailored support to keep your festival skills fresh.

Every year Film Hub Wales offers a training and networking opportunity to Welsh film festivals. 

The first event took place in conjunction with the Independent Cinema Office (ICO), January 2017 at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff.

Sessions included:

  • A talk from leading film PR specialist Clare Wilford, who will talk about running a successful press campaign.
  • A session with Jo Duncombe, a film programmer at the ICO, and curatorial advisor for the London Short Film Festival, who will talk about utilising social media.

The second event took place January 23, 2019 at Llandudno Junction Cineworld, as part of Iris On The Move. 

Sessions included:

  • A look at innovative ways to reach young audiences, with a focus on ages 16-30, from marketing, to programming, working with volunteers and event management with Leeds Young Film Festival
  • Launch of the Welsh Youth Festival Network, which aims to bring together Welsh film festivals who work with, or aspire to work with, young audiences.
