The world’s smallest solar movie theatre!

We worked with Sol Cinema to bring a unique mobile cinema experience (in a vintage caravan) to audiences at Chapter’s Art Car Bootique on Sunday 29th May, 2016.

There was something for everyone in this day-long programme of Welsh-made short films – including work from Oscar-nominated and BAFTA award-winning filmmakers.

Revolution 17

On Sunday 28th May 2017, we teamed with Sol Cinema to bring the revolution to Chapter’s Art Bootique! A programme of short films was screened as part of R17 – an arts season celebrating the Russian Revolution centenary.

Using revolution as inspiration, this series of shorts explores the different ways we can politically, socially and culturally stand up for what we believe in. Film topics included tackling racism, preserving nature and finding true happiness.

The programme for this year’s Art Car Bootique was curated by Sol Cinema and Film Hub Wales to demonstrate the different interpretations of revolution. Replicating a true cinematic experience, audience members were treated to promos and a trailer ahead of one of the following short films:

  • Akala – Find No Enemy
  • Wild Horses of Newbury
  • Reclaim the Power
  • Yarlswood
  • Be The Change

Audience Feedback

The feedback from audiences on the day was overwhelming positive. The average rating for the films was 4.6/5 and over 78% of audience members said it was likely they would attend another screening.
