The world’s smallest solar movie theatre!
We worked with Sol Cinema to bring a unique mobile cinema experience (in a vintage caravan) to audiences at Chapter’s Art Car Bootique on Sunday 29th May, 2016.
There was something for everyone in this day-long programme of Welsh-made short films – including work from Oscar-nominated and BAFTA award-winning filmmakers.
Some of the film highlights included;
- ‘Girls Night Out’ (1986) – BAFTA award-winning and Oscar-nominated Joanna Quinn.
- a glimpse in the wonderful music-video world of Casey Raymond, Ewan Morris-Jones and Phil Collins – delighted to be showing Cate Le Bon‘s ‘Crab Day‘, Leftfield and sleaford mods‘ ‘Head and Shoulders’ + more!
- some stunning on-screen moments with Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals) from the BAFTA Cymru award-winning Ryan Eddleston.
- ‘Political Animals‘ courtesy of Winding Snake – the film recently won a Zoom award for ‘Best Animation’.
- BFI archive film highlights ahead of our next ‘Britain on Film‘ project – Sinemaes.
- ‘Striking Stories‘ – Gritty Realism Productions‘ new film about the 1984-1985 miner’s strike, made by young people from Senghenydd Youth Drop in Centre and St Martin’s School, Caerphilly (funded by Arts Council of Wales).
