Sci-Fi – blockbuster season 2014/15

September 2014-January 2015

While the season is now closed, if you’re looking for Sci-Fi themed films, you can still view the programme here.

Sci-Fi Wales launched onto Welsh cinema screens on the 26th September 2014 with a special Chapter Wails screening of Phase IV with introductory musical performance from Zeuk and post film discussion, sending forth a Wales wide programme of special immersive cinema events and themed screenings that spanned the winter season, culminating in the North West at Theatr Harlech, with the Doctor Who Bretheren and Prisoner double bill on the 20th February 2015.

Throughout the four month season we reached over 8400 audience members though 300 individual screenings and 77 different Sci-Fi film titles. We worked with 15 Hub members* to deliver the Sci-Fi Season and over 45 wider partners (including Into Film, Cadw and BBC Cymru Wales), seeing everything from Planet Neath (Gwyn Hall) to Bounce Below, where families trampolined to Flash Gordon, with the backdrop of Llechwedd State Caverns (Cell B).
