About Neuadd Buddug: the venue operated as a theatre and cinema in Bala, Gwynedd. Screening the latest cinema releases, hosting Welsh touring productions and music events and National Theatre Live screenings throughout the year. Once a month, the Ffrindiau Neuadd Buddug screened a classic or independent film.
Originally the Victoria Hall, which dates from the 1890’s. By the 1930’s it had become the Victoria Cinema with seating for 350. The proscenium was 15 feet wide.
In the 1970’s it was taken over by the local Bala Council and its name changed to Sinema Neuadd Buddug (Cinema Hall Buddug). Gwynedd District Council then took over operations up to recent years.
