The Future of Pontypridd’s Muni Arts Centre: Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is working with Awen Cultural Trust and architects Purcell on an ambitious plan to revitalise Pontypridd’s Muni Arts Centre.

About the Muni: an arts centre inspired and led by the people of Pontypridd and RCT, their mission was to provide a community hub celebrating culture, events, history, learning and a way of life.

The Muni had a diverse and vibrant program of live events including music, theatre, dance and comedy as well as a number of exercise and wellbeing classes such as yoga, tai chi, aerobics, belly dancing and acrobatics.

A listed former Wesleyan Church which was renovated in the 1960’s, the Muni comprises a large auditorium, foyer area, changing rooms, a multi-purpose gallery, offices, meeting rooms and coffee shop/restaurant.
