BFI FAN Advice & Experience Scheme

Access bespoke assistance and knowledge to help your organisation develop and grow.

The BFI Film Audience Network (BFI FAN) aims to ensure the greatest choice of film is available for everyone across the whole of the UK. Supported by National Lottery funding, it is a unique collaboration of eight Film Hubs, managed by leading film organisations and venues strategically placed around the country. Established in 2012, it now has over 1,200 members, including cinemas, festivals, multi-arts venues, community cinemas and film archives, and is at the heart of the BFI’s strategy to build larger and more diverse audiences for UK and international film and a thriving cinema exhibition sector.

FAN Advice Sessions offer Hub Members FREE access to broad range of knowledge and experience within the cinema exhibition industry.

Our selection of advisors covers the breadth of the UK’s exhibition sector and can help you with everything from putting together a marketing plan to attracting new audiencesaddressing a technical issue, or constructing a budget.

In light of the COVID-19 crisis, we have formed a group of advisors ready to help you with online engagement, crisis management, reopening and more.

In order to provide in-depth, bespoke, advice on your organisation and issue, each Advice Session will involve a half-day meeting with your advisor followed by a report outlining practical next steps to advance your project. Local advisors can come to you and meet in person or, if it’s more practical, sessions can be arranged on the phone or over Skype.
