Anim-18 - Celebrating British Animation

After the success of Roald Dahl on film during summer 2016, which had young audiences Scratch ‘N Sniffing Matilda as far Serbia, we’re keen to offering another equally fantastic UK-wide film season for families.

Film Hub Wales and Chapter as FHLO, are pleased to share news of a successful stage one research and development application to the BFI, for a potential season celebrating British animation. Imagine new releases like Aardman’s Early Man, through to classics like Raymond Briggs’s The Bear, Welsh animation from Joanna Quinn and some special pre-1940’s packages from the UK archives.

What comes to mind for you? Is there a project idea bubbling under the surface that you would like to share with us? We’re in the final stages of recruitment for a project manager to undertake stage one of the process. Once we have someone in post, they will send round an expression of interest form which you can complete with your idea. Keep an eye on this webpage for updates on the project.

Please note that the season itself has not yet been confirmed. It is subject to the assessment of the stage two application and funding confirmation.
